Rent

Rent in BrutalSol

Rent is the primary income mechanism in BrutalSol, creating a dynamic economy where players earn passive income from their property investments. Understanding how rent works is essential to building a profitable portfolio and maximizing your returns.

Rent Basics

What Is Rent?

Rent is a payment automatically collected when a player lands on a city where other players own units. This payment is distributed proportionally to all unit owners, creating a passive income stream for property investors.

Rent Collection Triggers

  • A player landing on a city where they don't own all units

  • The player must pay rent to continue playing

  • Rent is calculated based on the city's properties and current conditions

Rent Calculation

Rent in BrutalSol is calculated through a multi-step process that accounts for several factors:

Base Formula

Actual Rent = Base Rent × Radiation Multiplier

Components

  1. Base Rent: Fixed value specific to each city (ranges from 0.01 to 0.2 SOL)

  2. Radiation Multiplier: Varies based on the city's radiation level

Radiation Multipliers

  • Level 5 (Highest Radiation): x1.0 multiplier

  • Level 4: x1.1 multiplier

  • Level 3: x1.2 multiplier

  • Level 2: x1.4 multiplier

  • Level 1: x1.6 multiplier

  • Level 0 (No Radiation): x4.0 multiplier

Example Calculation

If a player lands on Tokyo (0.2 SOL base rent) with radiation level 3 (x1.2 multiplier):

Actual Rent = 0.2 SOL × 1.2 = 0.24 SOL

Rent Distribution

When rent is paid, it's distributed among all unit owners according to a proportional system:

Distribution Formula

Unit Owner's Share = (Actual Rent ÷ Total Units) × Units Owned × Set Multiplier

Components

  1. Actual Rent: The total rent amount paid

  2. Total Units: Number of units minted in the city

  3. Units Owned: How many units the specific player owns

  4. Set Multiplier: Additional boost for owning complete sets (5% per set)

Distribution Example

For a city with 10 total units and 0.24 SOL rent:

  • Player A owns 6 units (no sets): 6/10 × 0.24 SOL = 0.144 SOL

  • Player B owns 4 units (with 1 complete set): 4/10 × 0.24 SOL × 1.05 = 0.1008 SOL

Set Boost

  • Each completed set (all 3 cities of the same color) provides a 5% boost to rent income

  • Multiple completed sets stack their bonuses (e.g., 2 sets = 10% boost)

  • This creates incentives for strategic set collection

Vehicle Multipliers

Your vehicle type (determined by total unit count) affects how much rent you pay:

  • Bike (0-19 units): x1.0 multiplier

  • Car (20-39 units): x2.0 multiplier

  • Boat (40-59 units): x3.0 multiplier

  • Jet (60-99 units): x4.0 multiplier

  • Rocket (100+ units): x10.0 multiplier

These multipliers increase the amount of rent you pay when landing on other players' properties, making the game more challenging as you progress through vehicle tiers.

Claiming Rent

Rent doesn't automatically appear in your wallet. To receive your rent:

  1. Navigate to your player dashboard

  2. Find the "Claim Rent" option for cities where you own units

  3. Execute the claim transaction

  4. Rent will be transferred to your wallet

Unclaimed rent accumulates until you claim it, but it's advisable to claim regularly.

Strategic Rent Considerations

City Selection

  • Higher-tier cities (Blue, Green) have higher base rents but cost more to acquire

  • Lower-tier cities (Red, Brown) offer more affordable entry points but generate less rent

  • Consider the rent-to-investment ratio when deciding where to mint units

Radiation Management

  • Contributing to cities where you own units can improve their radiation level, increasing rent multipliers

  • A well-maintained Level 0 city (x4.0 multiplier) can generate substantial returns

  • Collaborate with other unit owners to improve radiation levels for mutual benefit

Unit Concentration vs. Diversification

  • Concentrating units in a single city gives you a larger share of its rent

  • Diversifying across cities spreads your income sources and risk

  • Balance concentration and diversification based on your strategy

Set Completion

  • Prioritize completing sets to gain the 5% rent boost

  • The boost applies to all rent you collect, not just from cities in that set

  • Multiple completed sets create compounding benefits

Advanced Strategies

  • Target cities with low radiation levels for immediate better returns

  • Invest in cities with high contribution scores unlikely to be sabotaged

  • Consider the total unit count when evaluating rent potential (fewer units means larger shares per unit)

Bunker Rent

The Bunker follows different rent rules:

  • Fixed rent of 0.05 SOL regardless of radiation or other factors

  • Single owner collects 100% of the rent

  • Not affected by vehicle multipliers or set bonuses

  • Provides stable income not subject to radiation fluctuations

By understanding and optimizing rent mechanics, you can build a profitable portfolio that generates steady passive income, setting you up for long-term success in the BrutalSol ecosystem.
