Cities and Sets
Cities are the primary assets in BrutalSol, organized into color-coded sets that players can acquire and develop. Understanding how cities and sets function is crucial to mastering the game's strategic elements.
City Overview
Each city in BrutalSol has unique properties that determine its value, cost, and potential returns:
Name: The city's unique identifier
Set: The color group the city belongs to
Initial Price: The base cost to mint your first unit
Price Increment: How much the price increases with each unit minted
Base Rent: The standard rent amount before multipliers
Radiation Level: Affects rent multipliers (ranges from 0-5)
Total Units: How many units have been minted in the city
Unique Holders: Number of different players owning units
City Sets
BrutalSol features 18 cities divided into 6 color-coded sets of 3 cities each. Each set follows a specific pricing tier, with red being the most affordable and blue being the most premium.
Red Set (Lowest Tier)
Baghdad: 0.25 SOL initial price, 0.001 SOL increment, 0.01 SOL base rent
Caracas: 0.25 SOL initial price, 0.001 SOL increment, 0.01 SOL base rent
San Francisco: 0.25 SOL initial price, 0.001 SOL increment, 0.01 SOL base rent
Brown Set
Pyongyang: 0.5 SOL initial price, 0.002 SOL increment, 0.02 SOL base rent
Karachi: 0.5 SOL initial price, 0.002 SOL increment, 0.02 SOL base rent
Jakarta: 0.5 SOL initial price, 0.002 SOL increment, 0.02 SOL base rent
Orange Set
Rome: 1 SOL initial price, 0.005 SOL increment, 0.05 SOL base rent
Buenos Aires: 1 SOL initial price, 0.005 SOL increment, 0.05 SOL base rent
Istanbul: 1 SOL initial price, 0.005 SOL increment, 0.05 SOL base rent
Light Green Set
Barcelona: 1 SOL initial price, 0.005 SOL increment, 0.05 SOL base rent
Paris: 1 SOL initial price, 0.005 SOL increment, 0.05 SOL base rent
London: 1 SOL initial price, 0.005 SOL increment, 0.05 SOL base rent
Green Set
Seoul: 2 SOL initial price, 0.01 SOL increment, 0.1 SOL base rent
Zurich: 2 SOL initial price, 0.01 SOL increment, 0.1 SOL base rent
New York: 2 SOL initial price, 0.01 SOL increment, 0.1 SOL base rent
Blue Set (Highest Tier)
Dubai: 4 SOL initial price, 0.05 SOL increment, 0.2 SOL base rent
Singapore: 4 SOL initial price, 0.05 SOL increment, 0.2 SOL base rent
Tokyo: 4 SOL initial price, 0.05 SOL increment, 0.2 SOL base rent
City Unit Economics
Minting Units
Each city starts with its initial price for the first unit
Each additional unit minted in the city increases the price by the price increment
Example: The first unit in Baghdad costs 0.25 SOL, the second costs 0.251 SOL, and so on
Burning Units
Players can burn (sell) their units to receive SOL back
The burn price is calculated based on the city's current unit count
Burning a unit reduces the city's mint price for future units
Rent Calculation
Base rent varies by city tier
Actual rent is modified by the city's radiation level multiplier
Rent distribution is proportional to units owned
Example: If a city has a base rent of 0.1 SOL and a multiplier of x1.2 (level 3 radiation), the actual rent would be 0.12 SOL
Set Collection Benefits
Collecting complete sets provides significant advantages:
Rent Boost: Owning all three cities in a set provides a 5% boost to rent income per set owned
Stacking Bonuses: Multiple completed sets stack their bonuses (2 sets = 10% boost, 3 sets = 15% boost, etc.)
Strategic Value: Sets create synergy between properties of different value tiers
Set Collection Strategy
Early Game
Focus on affordable sets (Red, Brown) to establish regular income
Balance acquisition across multiple sets to diversify
Mid Game
Target completing one set to gain the 5% rent boost
Consider contributing to cities in your set to improve rent multipliers
Late Game
Acquire multiple sets for stacked bonuses
Invest in premium sets (Green, Blue) for higher base rents
Collaborate with other players to develop cities in your sets
City Development
Cities can be developed through collective contributions:
Contributions: Players can use tax points to improve a city's score
Sabotage: Players can use tax points to worsen a city's score
Radiation Levels: Better scores lead to better rent multipliers
Strategic Considerations
Premium cities (Green, Blue sets) have higher initial costs but greater rent potential
Affordable cities (Red, Brown sets) provide easier entry points but lower base rents
Consider the number of existing units when deciding where to invest
Monitor which cities have active development (contributions vs. sabotage)
Form alliances with other unit holders to collectively improve radiation levels
By understanding the dynamics of cities and sets, you can develop effective strategies to maximize your income and influence in the BrutalSol ecosystem.
